The Impact of US-China Trade War on Nvidia's Graphics Card Sales

Nvidia's flagship consumer graphics card, the GeForce RTX 4090, is now being sold at more than double its original price on Alibaba's Taobao marketplace in China due to the US technology export ban on China. The card is prohibited from being exported to China without a US government license as its performance exceeds a threshold set by American officials. The export restrictions aim to prevent China's military from accessing gear that can aid in the development of advanced artificial intelligence applications. Despite the ban, desktop PCs that include the RTX 4090 card are still available for purchase in China but would still be subject to the US curbs. Nvidia's RTX 40 generation of cards is known for its use of AI in graphics rendering and neural rendering techniques.
