Genetic testing company 23andMe has admitted that 6.9 million users' DNA was exposed in a hack, despite initially reporting only 14,000 users affected. The company has updated its terms of service to prevent users from filing a class action lawsuit and instead forces them into binding arbitration. Users have the option to opt out of arbitration by emailing the company within 30 days. The arbitration provision separates each user and makes it unlikely that a class action lawsuit will occur, leaving a smaller portion of affected users able to participate.
