The Rapid Rise of AI Skills in Singapore's Workforce

Singaporean workers have been identified as the fastest in the world to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) skills, according to LinkedIn's Future of Work report. The report analyzed data from 25 countries and found that Singapore had the highest "diffusion rate" of AI skills, with the number of members adding AI skills to their profiles growing 20 times from January 2016. Finland, Ireland, India, and Canada rounded out the top five countries with the highest rates of AI skills adoption. The report also highlighted the emergence of generative AI skills, such as question-answering, classification, and recommender systems, as the fastest-growing AI-related skills added to member profiles. However, concerns about job displacement due to AI and automation persist, with 300 million jobs worldwide potentially being affected.
