Twitter and Musk Withdraw from EU's Anti-Disinformation Code.

Twitter has withdrawn from the EU's voluntary Code of Practice against disinformation, just three months before the bloc starts enforcing the Digital Services Act (DSA), which requires "very large online platforms" to be more proactive with content moderation. The DSA will make fighting disinformation a legal obligation as of August 25th. Twitter's decision to withdraw from the Code suggests the company plans to skirt the bloc's rules on content moderation, but ignoring the DSA could result in penalties of up to 10 percent of global annual turnover for infractions.
