Walmart lights up a 100-site, 400 kW EV charging network across 20 states

Walmart has reached 100 company-owned fast-charge sites across 20 states, with Monument, Colorado marking the milestone as the 100th location. The site features eight plugs (4 CCS1, 4 NACS) capable of up to 400 kW, though most EVs can’t currently use that full power. The chargers come from ABB E-mobility (A400 All-in-One) and Alpitronic (HYC400 Hypercharger), which can deliver 400 kW to a single vehicle or split between two. Walmart built its own software to manage charging, payments, and maps, accessible via the regular Walmart app (with Walmart+ discounts). The company plans rapid expansion to thousands more sites by 2030 across its 5,200 U.S. locations.
