YouTube Auto-Labels AI-Generated Videos, Elevating AI Disclosures

YouTube will automatically label videos that show significant photorealistic AI use, making AI disclosures more prominent by moving the label under the video player for long-form content and as an overlay for Shorts. Creators still must manually disclose AI use when required, and in some cases labels will remain permanent (for content created with YouTube’s own AI tools or that includes C2PA metadata). The update also includes an internal system to detect AI-generated content and does not affect how videos are recommended or monetized.
