MARC adds weekday link between Montgomery County and Baltimore, cutting several commutes

The Maryland Transit Administration will launch a weekday MARC train connection between Montgomery County and Baltimore starting Sept. 28, funded without additional annual costs by reconfiguring existing services. Travel times drop significantly (e.g., Silver Spring–Baltimore Camden Station from 118 to 57 minutes; Germantown–College Park from ~90 to 46; Gaithersburg–Baltimore Camden Station from ~137 to 78), with direct links to Brunswick, Point of Rocks, Barnesville, Germantown, Metropolitan Grove, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Kensington, Silver Spring, College Park, Laurel and Baltimore. The schedule includes one morning departure to Baltimore and one return in the evening, and some Brunswick and Camden Line trains will be adjusted.
