Bee Swarm Causes Flight Delay for Hours

A Delta Airlines flight from Houston to Atlanta was delayed for three hours after a swarm of bees congregated on the wing of the plane. Passengers watched as crews worked to safely remove the bees, but it was turning on the engine that finally caused the bees to leave. The plane was rerouted to another gate and passengers eventually boarded the flight and arrived in Atlanta three hours later than scheduled. Delta said this kind of swarming is rare, but not unheard of, as bees can swarm on virtually any outdoor structure where bees are found in nature.
