East Coast Airlines Prepare for Severe Weather, Anticipate Delays and Cancellations

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has paused flights to several East Coast airports and rerouted planes around thunderstorms. Departures from airports in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Charlotte, and Atlanta are likely to be paused as well. Severe weather and thunderstorms have already caused over 1,200 flight cancellations, with Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International, New York's LaGuardia, Reagan National, and Baltimore-Washington International Marshall being the most affected airports. Airlines are warning customers of possible delays and cancellations, and some are allowing passengers to rebook their tickets without changing their itineraries. The FAA expects travel delays in various regions, including New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Denver, Memphis, and Florida.
