Record-breaking holiday travel expected with over 115M people flying, AAA predicts

AAA predicts that over 115 million Americans will travel during the year-end holiday period, marking the second-highest level in over two decades. This represents a 2.2% increase from the previous year, despite being 3.8 million fewer travelers than the pre-pandemic record in 2019. Airports are expected to be the busiest they've ever been, with 7.5 million people taking flights. Additionally, transportation via buses, trains, and cruises is projected to increase by 10.7% compared to last year. The majority of travelers, around 104 million, will opt for road trips.
