King Charles III, who will be crowned as Britain's king, has been involved in British cultural life throughout his life, not only as a maker of art but also as an avid spectator and patron. He is the most culturally attuned monarch for well over a century, with varied interests ranging from classical architecture to Barbra Streisand's music and movies, surreal comedy shows, and Philadelphia soul music. He has commissioned 12 works for the coronation ceremony, including an "Agnus Dei" for choir by the London-born American composer Tarik O'Regan.
