Music Executive's Art Collection Valued at $120 Million to Be Auctioned at Sotheby's

The art collection of Mo Ostin, a music industry executive and art enthusiast who died in August, will be auctioned at Sotheby's in May. The collection includes over 30 drawings and paintings by 20th- and 21st-century artists, including works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, and Cecily Brown, valued at over $120 million. The centerpiece of the collection are two major Surrealist paintings by René Magritte, estimated to sell for $15 million to $25 million and $35 million to $45 million, respectively. Ostin's son Michael, also a music industry executive, is a collector himself and was advised by his father to "trust your taste, listen to your gut, and buy what you love."
