Judy Blume clarifies support for trans community and addresses JK Rowling controversy.
TL;DR
Author Judy Blume clarifies her support for the trans community after her quote about being "behind" J.K. Rowling "100%" was taken out of context. Blume claims she was referring to the abuse Rowling has received for speaking up in defense of women's sex-based rights, but stresses her own support for the trans community and vehemently disagrees with anyone who does not fully support equality and acceptance for LGBTQIA+ people. Blume also speaks out against book bans and encourages educating children and arming them with knowledge.
