Disney+ and Hulu Prices Soar: Ad-Free Streaming Gets Costlier

Disney is raising the price of its ad-free Disney+ streaming service to $13.99 per month starting October 12, a 27% increase. The price of Hulu without ads will also increase to $17.99 per month, while Hulu with ads will remain at $7.99 per month. Disney believes its content library can compete with services like Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery's Max, hence the price increase. The company is also introducing a new "premium duo" offering for consumers who want both Disney+ and Hulu without commercials, priced at $19.99 per month. Disney's streaming division reported a loss of $512 million in its fiscal third quarter.
