HBO Max will launch in Japan as a dedicated hub inside Prime Video and Hulu Japan starting Oct. 1, giving Japanese subscribers access to HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures/Television, DC titles and Max originals, including a new Harry Potter series debuting at Christmas. The rollout follows a Warner Bros. Discovery–Nippon TV partnership, with plans to explore distributing Nippon TV and Hulu Japan content on HBO Max internationally. The JP libraries will include Game of Thrones universe titles, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Euphoria, Barbie, The Lord of the Rings, and more, with Hulu Japan subscribers receiving the Standard Tier at no extra cost and HBO Max on Prime Video offered as an add-on.
