LA County study warns Paramount-Warner merger could cost Hollywood over 10,000 jobs

A Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity assessment projects that the Paramount–Skydance merger with Warner Bros. Discovery could threaten about 10,360 local jobs and $4.06 billion in total business output, including 4,500 film/TV positions in Los Angeles lost over three years, 2,661 jobs at small businesses that support production, and 3,204 related jobs from worker spending, with wages potentially down by $1.26 billion. The report accompanies the county’s final 120‑day workforce analysis, issued as California and 11 other attorneys general sue to block the merger, which California AG Rob Bonta has called unlawful and harmful to consumers.
