NAZA earns Venice’s longest standing ovation for Gaza-focused documentary

NAZA, a Gaza-focused documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor of No Other Land, premiered at Venice to a record 24.5-minute standing ovation—the festival’s longest ever—and is emerging as a potential Golden Lion contender. The 80-minute film was shot undercover in Tel Aviv during the Gaza war and features 24 Israeli military officers, soldiers and whistleblowers discussing what the filmmakers describe as Israel’s calculated mass killing of Palestinians in Gaza, framed around the term Nezek Agavi (collateral damage).
