This was in response to a sponsored partnership between Bud Light and transgender actress and influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, who was celebrating one year of "girlhood" in her transitioning. Right-wing media figures called for a boycott of Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch, with country music star Travis Tritt announcing his own boycott. Mulvaney is a highly visible trans activist with over 1.7 million followers on Instagram and nearly 11 million on TikTok. Anheuser-Busch defended its collaboration with Mulvaney, stating that the commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and not for sale to the general public.
