TL;DR

"Kimberly Akimbo" won the Tony Award for best musical, with five awards in total, including best actress for Victoria Clark and best original score for Jeanine Tesori. The show is about a teenage girl dealing with a genetic condition and her dysfunctional family. The Tony Awards almost didn't happen due to the writers' strike, but a compromise was reached. Ariana DeBose hosted the event for the second year in a row, joking about being "live and unscripted."
