AFI Awards 2024: Top Film and TV Picks Revealed
TL;DR
The American Film Institute (AFI) has announced its top 10 films and TV programs for the year, with Netflix's Spanish-language musical 'Emilia Pérez' making the film list, while 'Gladiator II' was notably absent. AFI's rules allow non-English films with significant American involvement to qualify. The TV list includes FX's 'Shōgun' but excludes 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.' A special award will be given to Netflix's 'Baby Reindeer.' The AFI Awards luncheon is scheduled for January 10, 2025.
