Cruise Plays a World-Ending Oil Tycoon in Iñárritu’s Digger

Warner Bros. released a first look at Digger, a satirical catastrophe from Alejandro G. Iñárritu with Tom Cruise as Digger Rockwell, an aging, corrupt oil tycoon whose actions trigger a global disaster. The film, shot in VistaVision and also starring Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons, is set for a July trailer drop and an October theatrical release, and is framed as a potential awards contender amid Warner Bros.’ bold, risk-taking approach.
