Donald Glover's Struggle with Being Labeled a "Diversity Hire" in Hollywood
TL;DR
Donald Glover revealed in a recent interview that Tina Fey told him he was a "diversity hire" on the US sitcom 30 Rock, where he worked as a writer. Despite performing well in his role, Glover consistently felt like an outsider and later found out that he was only hired to make the team look more diverse. Glover is now a renowned actor, comedian, musician, writer, and director, and recently debuted his latest series, Swarm, co-created with Atlanta writer Janine Nabers for Amazon Prime Video.
