"Exploring the Complexities of 'Swarm': From Sexuality to Storyline"
TL;DR
"Swarm," the new series from Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, is not about Beyoncé, but rather about Dre, a 20-something woman obsessed with a fictional pop star named Ni'jah. The show explores Dre's descent into a parasocial relationship with Ni'jah, which becomes inextricable from her bond with her sister and best friend Marissa. The show features a standout performance from Dominique Fishback as Dre and was shot on film, with each episode functioning as a short film. "Swarm" premiered on Prime Video on Friday.
