James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opened with a domestic box office of $114 million, behind the last film in the franchise but still promising. The movie earned an A CinemaScore and strong exit scores on PostTrak, and it opened with a better-than-expected $168.1 million overseas. However, the movie has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes critics score of the three films. The weekend box office also saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie fall to No. 2 with an estimated $18.6 million, while Love Again opened with a projected $2.4 million.
