Hunger Games Prequel Unveils First Footage Ahead of November Release

Lionsgate released the first footage for The Hunger Games prequel The Sunrise on the Reaping, directed by Francis Lawrence with Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket and Ralph Fiennes as President Snow. The film adapts Suzanne Collins’s Sunrise on the Reaping, is set on the morning of the 50th Hunger Games, and features a cast including Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke and Lili Taylor, with Josh Hutcherson reprising his previous role. It opens in theaters on November 20, continuing the franchise after 2023’s Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
