Netflix Pulls the Plug on Ransom Canyon After Two Seasons

Netflix canceled Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly’s Western romance series Ransom Canyon after two seasons due to low ratings, with Season 2 drawing 4.1 million viewers in its first week (down from Season 1’s 7.2 million). Season 2 had eight episodes compared with ten in Season 1. Based on Jodi Thomas novels and created by April Blair, the Texas-set drama followed competing ranch families. Blair suggested the finale was just the beginning for Staten and Quinn, while stars and showrunners had teased a Season 3 before the axing; Netflix has not issued a comment.
