Netflix is adapting John Steinbeck’s East of Eden into a limited series, centering Florence Pugh’s Cathy Ames as a ruthlessly alluring antihero. Zoe Kazan helped reshape the project to foreground Cathy, with Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask, Mike Faist as Adam’s brother, Tracy Letts as their father, and Joe Anders and Joseph Zada as Adam’s sons Aron and Cal; the show debuts on October 1.
