Netflix’s ‘The Waterfront’: A Binge-Worthy Family Drama Inspired by True Events
TL;DR
The Waterfront attempts to emulate Ozark's gritty crime drama but falls short due to inconsistent tone, melodramatic storytelling, and underdeveloped characters, despite strong performances from Melissa Benoist and Holt McCallany. The series features a family involved in drug trafficking and internal conflicts, but ultimately lacks the depth and originality of its inspiration, making it a disappointing watch.
