Scary Movie 6 delivers the franchise’s brightest laughs thanks to Faris and Hall

In Scary Movie 6, the spoof series’ sixth entry aims to reboot itself but remains mostly lazy and offensive. Yet Anna Faris and Regina Hall, now playing the mothers of the next generation, steal the show with their daffy, committed turns, delivering the film’s few genuine laughs and making it the best installment in the series—even if that still isn’t saying much. The movie pokes fun at recent horror hits and reboot culture, but most gags land weakly, leaving it as a pallid parody that works mainly because of the leads.
