Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav was booed and heckled during his speech at Boston University's 2023 commencement ceremony, as people in the crowd shouted in support of the Writers Guild of America's ongoing strike for better pay and working conditions. Zaslav attempted to impart some life advice to the graduating students, but the audience challenged him to "pay his writers" and accused him of "ruining television." Despite the hostile reception, Zaslav received an honorary doctorate from the university.
