The Cannes Film Festival is set to showcase a star-studded lineup of films from some of the biggest names in international cinema, including Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson, and Ken Loach. The festival will also feature big studio efforts and new features from favorite auteurs. The competition slate includes an all-time high of seven films directed by women, and controversy is already brewing over the programming of Maïwenn’s Johnny Depp-starring “Jeanne du Barry” as the fest’s opener. The festival runs from May 16-27.
