Florence Pugh shines in otherwise lackluster 'A Good Person' review.

"A Good Person" is a heavy-handed melodrama about a woman named Ali (Florence Pugh) who battles opioid addiction after surviving a fatal car crash. Morgan Freeman plays Nathan's father, Daniel, who helps Ali through her addiction. The film suffers from too many plot lines and characters, and the focus splits too dramatically toward Daniel and his granddaughter Ryan. Despite Pugh's valiant effort, the film feels slight and synthetic.
