"Nicolas Cage's 'Renfield': A Disappointing Dracula Film"

"Renfield" is a highly absurd and entertaining comedy that features Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula and Nicholas Hoult as his put-upon servant. The movie is a rocking action film with lots of blood and kick-ass fights, but also funny. Renfield enters a codependency group to purge his personal demon, and the movie takes the sincerity of his journey seriously enough. The film is a relief from world-building and mythmaking, and it perfectly understands that sometimes all you want from a movie is 93 minutes of well-wrought absurdity.
