Pattinson Channels Hansen’s Voice for Primetime in an Audacious Imitation

Robert Pattinson says mastering Chris Hansen’s distinctive voice for A24’s Primetime was incredibly difficult, using Hansen’s Have A Seat podcast to study the host’s cadence while wandering the streets imitating the journalist. The film, directed by Lance Oppenheim, delves into the production, ethics, and media sensationalism behind To Catch a Predator. Pattinson initially joined as a producer and helped shape the project; Hansen wasn’t involved, though he acknowledged Pattinson’s imitation as fairly good in the trailer. Primetime opens in theaters on Sept. 25.
