Raphael Trades His Sai for a Jitte in TMNT Magic Set to Highlight Family Bond
TL;DR
New TMNT-themed previews for a Magic: The Gathering set reveal Raphael wielding a jitte instead of his traditional sai, a choice tied to Splinter’s Japanese heritage and the father–son dynamic it expresses. The redesign—alongside Mikey with a kusarigama and Leo with a ninjatō—was developed with Nickelodeon to reflect each turtle’s personality and their NYC upbringing, emphasizing how family and growth shape their visuals.
