Actor Michael J. Fox has revealed that he turned to alcohol to cope with his Parkinson's disease diagnosis at the age of 29. Fox admits that his drinking spiraled out of control, leading to tensions in his marriage to actress Tracy Pollan. He eventually quit drinking in 1992 for the sake of his family. Fox wonders if his heavy drinking played a part in his diagnosis. He retired from acting in 2020 due to his symptoms, which have included tremors, impaired movement, coordination, and muscle stiffness. Fox has been living with Parkinson's disease since his diagnosis in 1991 and has devoted himself to finding a cure through his foundation.
