Vietnam's Barbie Ban: South China Sea Map Sparks Controversy

Vietnam has banned the release of Warner Bros' film "Barbie" domestically due to a scene featuring a map that includes China's disputed territory in the South China Sea. The map depicts China's "nine-dash line," which Vietnam considers to encroach upon its continental shelf. This is not the first time Vietnam has banned a film for depicting the controversial nine-dash line, as previous movies such as "Abominable" and "Unchartered" were also prohibited. Vietnam and China have long-standing territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
