"Union Solidarity Grows at Hollywood Writer's Strike Rally"

Los Angeles unions, including hotel workers, teachers, and state employees, rallied in support of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), which has been on strike for four weeks. SAG-AFTRA also called a strike authorization vote as negotiations begin on June 7. Many actors and performers have joined the writers on the picket lines, and the solidarity has "really buoyed" the WGA. The strike began on May 2 after talks collapsed with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and there is no telling how long it could last.
