TL;DR

40 years ago, NPR's All Things Considered host Susan Stamberg asked a young moviegoer to give a "sneak preview" of Return of the Jedi, which led to a flood of complaints from listeners and an on-air apology. The boy's review included some spoilers, which angered many listeners. Stamberg apologized and acknowledged the power of fantasy in our lives, and 40 years later, Return of the Jedi is still beloved by fans.
