Dave Kendall, Creator of MTV's 120 Minutes, Dies

Dave Kendall, the British-born journalist who created MTV's influential alternative-rock show 120 Minutes and hosted it from 1986 to 1992, has died. Matt Pinfield announced the news on Instagram; Kendall's exact cause and circumstances are not disclosed. Kendall later co-produced Music Scoupe with Kelly Ripa, anchored Woodstock '94, and hosted radio/TV gigs including Hot 97's Planet Traxx and SiriusXM. In later years he lived in Thailand and worked for the Bangkok Post. His work helped bring underground music to a broader audience.
