Green Day Sparks Super Bowl LX Pre-Show With American Idiot Medley
TL;DR
Green Day opened the Super Bowl LX pre-game with a medley from American Idiot—Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and American Idiot—highlighting the band’s protest roots; NBC’s broadcast reportedly garbled the lyric “the subliminal mind-fuck America,” and there was no MAGA-verse insertion this time. Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has previously criticized ICE, and the pre-game lineup also featured Coco Jones, Brandi Carlile, and Charlie Puth, with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show.
