Attila: The Infamous Pre-Fame Metal Band and Their Notorious Album.

Attila, the heavy psych/heavy metal duo formed in 1969 by Billy Joel and his drummer pal Jon Small, both former members of The Hassles, released their self-titled debut album in 1970. The album was panned by critics and is considered one of the worst albums ever made. Despite this, Joel and Small secured a record deal with Epic Records. The band shot the cover photo in a meat locker, dressed in armour, chainmail, and fur, flanked by animal carcasses. Joel later dubbed the project “a colossal failure.”
