Attila: The Infamous Pre-Fame Metal Band and Their Disastrous Debut Album.
Attila, the heavy psych/heavy metal duo formed in 1969 by Billy Joel and his drummer pal Jon Small, both former members of The Hassles, released their self-titled debut album in 1970. The album was panned by critics and is considered by some as the worst album ever made. Despite securing a record deal with Epic Records, the band disbanded due to Joel having an affair with Small's wife, Elizabeth, who he later married. Joel dubbed the project “a colossal failure.”
