TL;DR

Brenda Lee, the music legend, celebrates her upcoming 79th birthday with the news that her holiday classic "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, 65 years after its release. This makes Lee the oldest woman ever to top the chart and sets a new record for the longest wait between a song's release and reaching No. 1. The song joins Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and "The Chipmunk Song" as the only holiday songs to achieve this feat.
