Ed Sheeran's Legal Triumph Leads to Street Serenade for Fans.
TL;DR
Ed Sheeran celebrated his trial win against Marvin Gaye's estate by surprising fans waiting outside his American Express pop-up in Manhattan's SoHo with an impromptu performance on the same day he released his new album, "Subtract." Sheeran climbed on top of a car and played his single "Boat" from the new record. In a post-trial statement, Sheeran expressed frustration that "baseless claims" like this are allowed to go to court and defended the use of common building blocks in songwriting.
