Eddie Van Halen's 'Hot for Teacher' Guitar Fetches $3.9M at Auction

Eddie Van Halen's custom-made "Frankenstrat" guitar, which he played in the "Hot for Teacher" video, sold at auction for $3.9 million, setting a new record for the most expensive Frankenstrat sold at auction. The sale included other items from the video, such as the straitjacket and gloves worn by Van Halen. The guitar was gifted to the band's retiring drum tech in 1990 and was sold by Huntington Beach, California shop Neal's Music to an unknown bidder.
