TL;DR

Lana Del Rey's new album "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" is a sprawling, rich, and singular work that pays homage to music history and her favorite artists. Del Rey's old-soul reverence collapses the distance between generations, and her emotional connection to artists like Harry Nilsson and Leonard Cohen transcends time. The album features a gospel-tinged opening number with Father John Misty and a centuries-old folk standard. The playlist includes some of the album's best songs in conversation with the other artists it references.
