Grammys Revamp Rules with Five New Categories and Extended New-Artist/Album Eligibility

The Grammy Awards announce sweeping 2027 rule changes, adding five new categories (Asian Pop, R&B collaborations, Traditional Pop, Traditional Folk, Latin Song) and overhauling key awards: Best New Artist and Best Album eligibility now permit up to four submissions and lower the album threshold from 75% to 66%; songwriters and composers on winning albums will receive statuettes and certificates; voting also includes a Ballot Plus option to broaden expert participation.
