TL;DR

Afrika Bambaataa, a foundational figure in early hip-hop and founder of the Universal Zulu Nation, has died at 67. Renowned for the electro‑funk classic “Planet Rock” and for helping launch Bronx block parties that shaped the genre, his legacy is complicated by 2016 molestation allegations and a civil case loss that led to the Zulu Nation distancing itself from him.
