Kendrick Lamar's 'GNX' Ignites Streaming and Industry Buzz
TL;DR
Lil Wayne reportedly reached out to Kendrick Lamar after being mentioned in Lamar's track "Wacced Out Murals" from the GNX album, but received no response, according to Joe Budden. Budden claims this led Wayne to record a response in the studio. Wayne expressed his disappointment over Lamar headlining the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans, a spot he had hoped for, which added to the tension between the two artists.
